Facilitator of: Aphasia Support Group & Brainstorm Support Group

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist in Central WA with 20 years of experience working in neuro-rehabilitation. I was born and raised in Ellensburg, and after finishing school in Pullman at WSU, I was fortunate to work at an amazing post-acute brain injury program in Northern California for five years. It was here that my passion for helping individuals recovering from a traumatic brain injury or stroke was fostered. With the mentor-ship from a seasoned team of therapists, I facilitated my first support group and found the whole experience rather rewarding. When family circumstances arose that brought me back to Washington, it was not long before I found myself starting another brain injury support group over 11 years ago. The Brainstorm Rehab Support Group has had a foundation of core members who have maintained close friendships over the years with the tradition of monthly meetings where people exchange advice and offer each other support. We have been excited to add more activities in the past year, including the art groups at Gallery One in Ellensburg.  Our other group, The Aphasia Support Group, was started three years ago to offer the opportunity for those individuals working on rebuilding their communication skills a group where they could feel supported and meet with others who understand the challenges of Aphasia. They love to come together twice a month for a shared potluck meal, and the opportunity to join in supported communicative activities. Please feel free to contact me about details of each group. Come join the fun!
